The Original

Although the Christians Husky of Piper PA 18 looks very similar, the development of this pattern began only in 1985. So about 50 years after the Piper. The first flight of the prototype took place in 1986. The fuselage of the aircraft consists of a covered steel tube framework. For the wings, the nose box is designed up to the spar in all-metal construction with sheet metal sheeting. The optimal view from the generously glazed cabin has been an important development point for the Husky applications - especially observation and patrol flights. The machine has a low flying weight and high performance because it is equipped with a 135 kW (180 PS) four-cylinder Boxer engine O-360 from Textron-Lycoming. This high power-to-weight ratio and the very large wing area of ??17 m² provide an optimal short-start and landing capability. There are also versions with floats or snow skids as well as hydraulically retractable skis. The Husky can also be equipped with a tow coupling for the banner or glider tow.

The Model

The aim of our development was to offer a kit at an affordable price to take account of the growing demand for kit models bill. A white colored glassfiber fuselage, glassfiber bonnet, glassfiber edge bow and glassfiber cockpit door are supplied to keep the effort within limits. The wings and fins are made of balsa and plywood. The construction of the wings is very simple, because the construction takes place on a kind of Helling. The precisely machined CNC machined wood parts also make the construction easier. The model can be built as a simple everyday model or as a full scale model. Our demonstration model was set up by the father of the company boss (Manfred Engel) for competitions. The flying qualities are very good and above all balanced and good-natured.
